THE SMITHSONIAN IS COMING TO TWINSBURG!
The Twinsburg Public Library has been chosen by the Ohio Humanities Council as one of eight sites for the Ohio tour of the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum on Main Street exhibition, Key Ingredients: America by Food. The exhibit explores the connections between Americans and the food they produce, prepare, preserve and present at the table. Through artifacts, photographs and illustrations, the exhibit shows the evolution of the American kitchen and how technological innovations have enabled Americans to choose an ever-wider variety of foods. Key Ingredients also looks beyong the home to restaurants, diners and celebrations that build a sense of community through food. The exhibit will be on view in Twinsburg between January 5 and 30, whenever the Library is open.
Key Ingredients: America by Food has been made possible in Twinsburg by the Ohio Humanities Council. Key Ingredients is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and the Federation of State Humanities Councils. Support for Museum on Main Street has been provided by the United States Congress, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Hearst Foundation.
From Sauerkraut Balls to Microgreens

Snow was food editor of the Akron Beacon Journal for 28 years, during which she was nominated twice for the Pulitzer Prize, and her food section was named best in the country in its category three times. She has met Julia Child, stood beside Emeril Lagasse as he prepared dinner, and chatted with Wolfgang Puck. Volunteers Needed as Docents
Outgoing individuals are needed as docents for the Key Ingredients: America by Food exhibition that will be here at the Twinsburg Library in January. Docents are tour guides who help visitors to the exhibit understand what they are viewing by pointing out and asking questions about the presented topics. A detailed docent handbook and opportunities to preview the exhibit before its opening are available. This is a short term opportunity to learn more about America's food heritage while helping others. If interested, please call Karen Woods at (330) 425-4268 ext. 2.
