You will see a lot of "teal" around the library during the month of September. This is "Team TPL's" effort to make "woman and the men who love them" aware of the silent disease, ovarian cancer. As someone who is a survivor of ovarian cancer and has lost a sister to the same disease, this is very near and dear to my heart. I was very fortunate that my cancer was discovered early-but it is such a quiet disease, that often very strong warnings can be confused with acid reflux, anxiety and many other causes. While some may find this an uncomfortable subject, it is important information. Please find information in the library, and enter a drawing to win a L'Oreal Color of Hope necklace (donated by a private citizen)beginning September 4.
