The Thinker’s Club-Philosophy Book Discussion
Come join other local amateur philosophers the first Wednesday of each month from 7-8pm as we explore the answers to life’s most challenging questions at The Thinkers’ Club. Modeled on the Socrates CafĂ© concept, the Thinkers’ Club is a reading and discussion group intended to provide a fun, non-judgmental forum to discuss philosophical topics with other critical thinkers. The group will read primary and secondary sources in the history of philosophy as well as in fiction, history, politics, religion, art, culture, sociology, psychology, etc. that generate philosophical inquiry. Mark your calendar for the first meeting of the Thinkers Club, January 7, 2009 at the Twinsburg Library from 7-8pm. And remember, “The unexamined life is not worth living,” (Socrates).

Movie Release of Twilight
Saturday, November 22, 9:00 a.m. - Unless you’ve been living in a dark basement, you know that one of the most-anticipated movie events of the winter is the November 21 release of Twilight, based on the hugely popular vampire romances written by Stephenie Meyer. These books are in constant demand by our teen readers, and many of their mothers as well. Teen Crossings is pleased to announce that, in cooperation with our friends at the Stow-Monroe Falls Public Library and Hudson Public Library, we have reserved a private showing of Twilight open to everyone at the Macedonia Cinemark on Saturday morning, November 22, at 9am! (Yes, I did say 9 am.) We began selling vouchers on October 20. Vouchers will be $9.00, which include admission to the movie, small drink, small popcorn, and a candy treat. Purchasers will present the voucher at the box office the morning of the show, and get their actual movie ticket. You will be able to purchase tickets the morning of the show, but as this is a special event, Cinemark will require the total package purchase, at regular prices. Purchase your voucher at Teen Crossings, with cash or check payable to Twinsburg Public Library.
The movie is rated PG-13. If anyone under the age of 13 wishes to view the movie with us, they must either go to the viewing with an adult, or have a signed parental permission form, available at Teen Crossings. Parents or other adults should purchase the vouchers for viewers under the age of 13, and fill out a permission form. We plan to have contests, raffle off copies of the book, and other cool things. Dress up as Bella! We’ll have a table set up inside the lobby of the theater where you can enter raffles. So if you’re busy the night of the movie’s premiere, or if you see it that night but want to see it again, make plans to see it with us.
